Far East New Century participates in COP29 to share highlights of circular economy and carbon reduction

The 29th Conference of the Parties (COP 29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change will be held in Azerbaijan from November 11 to November 22, 2024. Governments, non-governmental organizations, business leaders, and experts and scholars from around the world gathered together for consultations, negotiations, and experience sharing to jointly combat climate change.

Associate Professor You Jingying from Yuanzhi University of Far East Group was invited to attend the conference from November 12th to 13th. She gave two speeches at the official venue - Blue Zone, focusing on Far East New Century's "Circular Economy Products" and "Carbon Reduction Performance". She also showcased Far East New Century's 2022 FIFA "Marine Recycling Environmental Protection Anti explosion Jersey" and "100% Recycled Polyester Sports Shoes" made from recycled marine waste, which were warmly received by the audience. Associate Professor You mentioned in his speech that Far East New Century has been deeply involved in the recycling of polyester industry for over 30 years, applying its core capabilities to various innovative and renewable technology developments, and developing green technologies using "land, sea, and air" waste as the source of renewable raw materials. Collaborate with global brand clients to create sustainable value and build a sustainable circular living circle. The recycling industry has expanded from Taiwan to the United States, Japan, Chinese Mainland, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, etc.

In addition, it is specifically mentioned that Far East New Century will implement five major strategies to reduce carbon emissions, achieve the 2025 carbon reduction target ahead of schedule by 2023, and set new goals for low-carbon transformation by 2030: reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50%, green products by 50%, and green raw materials by 50%, demonstrating a strong determination to reduce carbon emissions, surpassing international standards, and actively moving towards net zero emissions by 2050.
